A very correct, original and handsome example, in sound condition, with an unmolested feel. The coachwork is sizeable and  spacious and in the rear, light & airy due to the large area of glass. Finished in old but good black and very dark blue paintwork, with dark blue leather to the front, and grey corded cloth to the rear, including the occasional seats. In many ways an ideal wedding hire car, combining early looks - including the P100 headlamps – and post-war practicality.

Snippets: Ordered by one of the most established Diamond Merchants in the world – S. L. Van Moppes Ltd.  In 1811 Napoleonic Law meant that Jewish families had to chose a surname rather than the existing format “first-name-son-of” Levie Jacob chose the surname of Moppes, during WWII the Van Moppes company bulk purchased Brazilian diamonds in an effort to help the Allied war effort, their offices where destroyed by bombs but they never stopped trading.  Nicolas Van Moppes was the last member of the family to run the business, he died in an aircrash in Nice in 1979.  The company still exists today and trades globally.
