Built for the 1948 Earl's Court Motor Show, this is the very last Rolls-Royce bodied by Windovers, before they went the way of many coachbuilders in the post-war years. The car has benefited recently from various refurbishment work, including re-painting, new tyres, new exhaust system, work on the brakes, etc. Although still in need of some attention, basically a good car, with an imposing frontal aspect, well suited to wedding hire work.

Snippets:  WCB9 was one of just 4 Silver Wraiths bodied by Windovers & after the Earls Court Show was purchased by John Bamforth Ltd, a Steel Fabrication Company located at Little John Mills.  In 1842 this was the site of one of the many industrial strikes of the 19th Century. Joseph Baines, a local man, was imprisoned for 6 months for the offence of “drawing the clough” at one of these strikes. Little John Mills still produce structural steel for both export & home sales.   Whilst in America WCB9 wa owned by  well known race-horse owner (his most famous being “Sindy with an S”) who now devotes his time to rehoming retired racehorses - www.horsetown.org.
