1925 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Rolling Chassis.

A very rare find, being a complete, correct and undisturbed Ghost chassis from the last series of 1925, and therefore incorporating all the updates including Autovac, etc, as well as the all important four wheel braking system. Complete with the original engine, transmission, axles, radiator and bonnet, etc, all untouched for many years (believed last used over forty years ago), as well as dashboard, instruments, fuel tank, and all manner of smaller items. The wheels are the correct straight-sided type, including the twin side-mounted spares. As complete a chassis as you are ever likely to find, and an absolutely excellent basis for an interesting re-body.

Snippets: Ordered by the mysterious Mdme L. de Santa Maria of Paris but subsequently delivered to Ira Nelson Morris (US Ambassador to Sweden 1914 – 1923).  Ira’s father  was the founder & president of Morris & Co, meatpackers who during the Civil War sold cattle to the Union armies.  Ira began his diplomatic career in 1914 & during his government work he served five presidents from Wilson to FDR.  His wife, Constance Lily Rothschild, was a daugher of V Henry Rothschild, the founder of the shirt manufacturing company of the same name.  Constance’s sister, Irene, was the wife of Solomon Guggenheim, president of Yukon Gold Company & founder of the Guggenheim Foundation.
