Specialist dealers in early Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars. 1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I Saloon. Click on the images below to enlarge them. To return to this page afterwards, click the 'back' button on your browser. A decent example of an early Silver Cloud, benefiting from various work in recent years, including a repaint and, as far as we can tell, an engine overhaul in 2004. There is a large bundle of invoices for parts supplied and work carried out over the last decade or so. Certainly, the engine runs very nicely, and the car drives well. Finished in metallic grey and silver, with original blue/grey leather in good order. Tested until July 2013. Chassis No. SXA79. Reg No. 618 APB. £26,500. Snippets: Beetling Mill. The car was delivered to its millionaire owner Frances
James Hill at his home of Fiveacres, Wormley.
Upon his death in 1974 his estate
had to pay over £1m in death duties. He
only owned SXA79 for 4 years before it crossed the Irish Sea to be with Thomas W
Wynne & Co of Belfast, prior to their relocation the firm had been based in
Lislea, Co Armagh where they employed some 200 people at their factory &
beetling mill (Beetling is a finishing process for cloth which involves the
pounding of the fabric with heavy weights). Would you like more information? Go to 'Contact
