A fascinating restoration project, being a correct, original car, untouched for many, many years, having been with one family since 1960, and not used for most of that time. The renovation will be all the more enjoyable and worthwhile because of early documentation, including a two-page spread in ‘The Motor’ in 1933, and advertising by R-R themselves when the car was new. Various quirky features, such as very unusual ‘tribar’ door handles, add to the appeal, and help to make this a very unusual and rare opportunity. We have now persuaded the engine to run, and it sounds good!

Chassis No. 30PY.                                    Reg No. ALO 800.                            £50,000.

Snippets: Specially ordered by George L. Sclater-Booth who was a Director of Hooper.  The firm was established in 1805 as Adams & Hooper & in 1830 received their first Royal Warrant.  With the advent of Motorcars Hoopers where obliged to open a second factory to cope with their orders.  During WWI they turned to producing complete planes such as the Sopwith Camel at an astounding rate of 3 a day!  In peacetime they resumed coach-building and with their second factory their production rate to an average of 6 bodies per week.  In WWII they again resumed aircraft manufacture – Oxfords, Mosquitos & Gliders!
