Recent considerable attention to this car has included engine overhaul work, with new pistons, etc, and we have invoices showing thousands of pounds spent. The car is generally good, clean & tidy, with quite fresh paintwork and an appealing, original leather interior, good headlining, carpets and woodwork. The underside is sound, although are some earlier rust repairs evident. Driving well, MoT tested until June 2010, and representing good value for money.

Snippets: Ordered by Miss Jeannie Laing of Jesmond  - was she related to the designer of the Mauretania’s engines - Andrew Laing – but he was unmarried.  Andrew was awarded a CBE in 1917 for his war work.  Perhaps she was related to Alexander Laing? In 1903 the Newcastle Corporation had earmarked a site for the construction of an Art Gallery but had only managed to raise the amount of £1,200; Alexander Laing, in commemoration of his successful business career of 50yrs, donated over £30,000 to the corporation to complete the project – which is now known as the Laing Gallery.
