Specialist dealers in early Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars. 1936 Bentley 4 1/4 Litre Vanden Plas Four Door Tourer. Click on the images below to enlarge them. To return to this page afterwards, click the 'back' button on your browser. A very rare and desirable configuration on a Derby Bentley, being a four door, four seater ‘all-weather’ cabriolet – easy to get in and out of - and with wind up windows, making it very practical for use in (nearly!) all conditions. It is looking likely that the car is in fact unique, appearing to be the only one built to this design. We are investigating this at present. An attractive car too, with a particularly low roofline when the hood is down, giving excellent visibility. In good order throughout, driving really nicely, and MoT tested until June 2009. Chassis No. B123GP. Reg No. JB 9684. £120,000. Snippets: Biscuits
& Bishops Owned by Gerald Eustace Howell Palmer, great-grandson of George Palmer - a wealthy Quaker & the partner of Thomas Huntley (Huntley & Palmer Biscuits). G. E. H. Palmer served as secretary to several MPs inc Richard Cripps & Oliver Stanley. After WWII he devoted his time to protecting the Forests of Great Britain & to collaborating with Bishop Kallistos & Philip Sherrard in the translation & publication of The Philokalia – a collection of texts written between the 4th & 15th centuries by Spiritual Masters of the Orthodox Church.
