These exterior pictures flatter the car, but even so, it is very appealing!

One owner from 1969 to 2009, and generally extremely original, sound and correct, with considerable history, including the most remarkable early paperwork, delivery documents, etc, that we have ever seen. This makes fascinating reading. Since coming out of storage last year, work has started on a careful refurbishment, and this work includes a nice re-trim of the seats in brown leather, making of new running boards, various re-chroming, and a brand new cylinder head. Work still to do, but an interesting and very worthwhile project.

Chassis No. GXM52.                             Reg No. BAC 268.                          £26,500.

Snippets:   Order by J. A. Jefferson for his wife - the car was delivered to Mrs Jefferson during December 1936 whilst they were staying at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay, perhaps an early Christmas Gift? During the 19th Century Torquay played host to many European Heads of State including Napoleon III & the Queen of the Netherlands.  J. A. Jefferson was the son of a prominent West Bromwich businessman (F.T. Jefferson).  In 1906 he started work for the Britannic Assurance, 1916 saw his promotion to General Manager & by 1924 he was Chairman.   He was a keen athlete & represented Middlesex at Rugby Football. Parkfields, his family home was a fine Victorian Manor in the wealthy area nicknamed the “Dorridge Triangle”. He was a founder member of Denarius Dining Club which meets some 4 times a year at the Army & Navy Club in Pall Mall.  A Denarius was a small silver coin weighing approximately 4.5gms which was first minted by the Romans circa 211BC.  Even today, there are some areas in North Africa, Europe & Arabia that have a coin called the Dinar (the word means to give).
