A
handsome razor edge saloon, in sound, correct and mostly original condition. The
body design incorporates various touches, such as flared door bottoms and
‘trouser crease’ wings, is nicely finished in black & green, with
appealing mature brown leather interior, and has a large sliding sunroof. The
engine is particularly sweet and smooth, and the car is driving nicely. Comes
with considerable history, including evidence of time spent in France, Hong Kong
and the USA, from where it has just returned. Offered serviced, prepared, UK
registered and MoT tested.

The house, built in 1552 during the reign of King Edward VI who died in
1553 aged 16, is a superb example of a Tudor residence.
Within the house is a Priest Hole which suggests the importance of this
property during both the Tudor period & the English Civil War a 100 years
later. There were, we are told, two
tunnels leading to the house one going towards the White Hart & one going
into the gardens. In 1963 the car
was registered Les Andelys, France - famous
as being the stronghold of Richard the Lionheart, whose exploits where
immortalised by Walter Scott as Ivanhoe. The 1960s saw GAR5 becoming a
transatlantic car with a journey to the USA.
The car was owned by the then Director of Market Research to Pepsi-Cola
so was so enamoured of his car that when he moved to Hong Kong with the company
then so did his car!
