A rare survivor, being one of a relatively small number of landaulettes built on 20hp chassis, many of which were lost to re-bodying in the 1930’s or later. The car would benefit from some improvements here and there, but is substantially good, correct and complete, and retains the original 20” wheels, including – unusually – twin side-mounted spares.  Offered MoT tested until October 2008, and now  UK registered after spending many years in South Africa.

Chassis No. GYL62.                             Reg No. BF 4551.                         £32,500.

Snippets: S W Pilling of Welton Hall was 72 years old when he bought the car!  He was an “Organist” & had studied his craft at Manchester Cathedral.  His wife Leila Ada was the daughter of Marmaduke Fox who was a wealthy woollen manufacturer.  GYL62 took part in the 1st National Vintage Motor Rally in Rhodesia in 1965 and was driven by her owner A. J. Messenger.
