A good, sound correct and appealing Sedanca de Ville, which has been with one owner for the last 28 years. The body is substantial and sound, the opening roof mechanism is as it should be and working well, the black leather interior is very good, and the car is painted in a very cheerful shade of yellow, with black wings. Various original tools in their trays, correct lamps, mascot, etc, and all-in-all, the car is very ‘proper’ and will be of interest to many enthusiasts. Just re-commissioned after a period of storage, and MoT tested until February 2011.

Chassis No. GOH37.                              Reg No. BYW314.                           £37,500.

Snippets: Bought by Capt F. G. MacAlpine served with the East Lancs Regiment during WWI & he was awarded the Military Cross for his conspicuous gallantry during the Battle of the Lys in 1918.  In 1920 after his father’s death, Capt MacAlpine joined the board of directors of the family firm – Accrington Brick & Tile Co Ltd.  A huge amount of Nori (Iron spelt backwards) bricks were exported to America in 1931 for the foundations of the 1,453ft Empire State Building, the bricks were also used in the foundations of the Blackpool Tower in 1861.
